Love me in Lazio, a love journey
Five unpublished story tellings, an invitation to live the most romantic and suggestive side of Lazio, the least known one, the most emotional one. This is the preview of “Love me in Lazio”, the first guide dedicated to enhance the Region as romantic destination in the wedding and romantic tourism, nationally and internationally. The date is November, 29th at 12.20, during Florence’s BTO, come to its tenth edition.
“Is Lazio romantic?”
We will talk about it with Flaminia Santarelli, Manager Promoting Area and Marketing Regional Agency for Tourism in Lazio, and Riccardo Frascisco, representant of Anna Frascisco Event Planner, included in the 10th best wedding planners in Italy rank for the second consecutive year.
Historical residences, romantic gardens
The story of a young couple searching for “their ancient village”, the ideal place where to celebrate their wedding in the wide choice of the most beautiful historical residences in Lazio. Medieval castles like Orsini Castle in Montenero and Santa Severa Castle in Santa Marinella, a manor kissed by the sea of the Tyrrhenian coast, north of Rome; princely palaces like Caetani Palace in Fondi, with elegant double-arched windows in polished stone and the huge majestic hall; romantic gardens like the one of Villa Gregoriana in Tivoli, where they can marry on the suggestive Belvedere della Grande Cascata.
Undiscovered pearls, places of romance
A journey to discover the most romantic places in Lazio, to live a weekend of love at any age. From Fiuggi, renowned thermal center, where we discovered lovers’ favourite place, the “Ladykisser’s alley”, to the “lost town” of Antuni, by Lake Turano, to Civita di Bagnoregio, built on a tuff riff overlooking the Calanchi Valley.
An itinerary in the naturalistic side of Lazio, between green beauties and romantic landscapes, ideal for those who love relaxing and nature. From Gaeta and Fiumicino’s seaside, locations for an original wedding on the beach, to the waters of Lake Bracciano and Lake Canterno, to the Beech forest of Monte Cimino to the Natural Park of Simbruini Mountains.
However, Lazio is not only harmony with nature, but it is also a spiritual land, like the San Francis Way testifies, a journey between the four sanctuaries of Reatina Valley, for those couples who want to find, once again, the roots of their love, far away from the noise of everyday life.
The sea islands Ponza, Ventotene and Palmarola, the lake islands Bisentina e Martana inside Lake Bolsena… the journey discovering Lazio’s islands is perfect for an alternative weekend or to celebrate a love event, such as the anniversary or the vow renewal. Among beaches and bays, underwater caves and ancient towns overlooking the harbor, the islands offer “gems” of love like the “Heart beach” in Ponza, one of the best panoramic points in the island, named after a heart-shaped rock.
Cinema and love
A chapter that is all dedicated to the relationship between Lazio and the duo cinema-love, through the films that made us dream on the big screen. From the most iconic movies, like Dolce Vita and Roman Holidays, to the more contemporary To rome with Love and The Great Beauty, setted in the most romantic places in Rome. But that’s not all; beyond the capital there are cinematographic locations that were the background of the most beautiful love films of international cinema. Not everybody knows that it was inside Borghese Palace in Artena that Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet was shot, or that Civita di Bagnoregio and San Donato in Comino Valley were the set for Zeffirelli’s The street. And then there are Itri and Fondi, of the unforgetable De Sica’s Ciociara and Alatri (in the picture) for De Santis’ Days of Love.
A journey capable of enchanting every cinema lover.
The sixth and last chapter of Love me in Lazio is all dedicated to the Top 100 Locations for your wedding among the most beautiful villas, castles, historical residences and Palaces of alla Lazio, divided in 7 wedding trends to make every couples’ dreams come true.
