Love and tradition: the wine of “Io Mazzucato” winery (Vicenza)

Io Mazzucato winery

Io Mazzucato winery is located on the hills below the Plateau of Asiago, Vicenza.

A love for wine imparted to Andrea by his grandfather Clemente: “Wine flows red along with the generations and on the ardous road like the river of time pours on us its music, its fire and its lions” (Jorge Luis Borges). The area has gained the recognition of DOC Breganze and is made famous by the raisin  wine “Torcolato”. The name of this wine comes from an ancient technique of production: the grapes were left to dry in basements or attics where, to save space, they were hung up to the balks, and the bunches were twisted (“torcolati” , in dialect ) with twines.

Mazzucato’s  winery boasts white and red grapes: in addition to Torcolato, between the wines produced, there are the local Vespaiolo, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Carmenere .

An ideal setting for your wedding, Io Mazzucato  is also synonymous of hospitality: many events all a year round, including tastings, visits to the winery and art exhibitions. This month the winery awaits you with “Wine is served “, a short course arranged by Ais Veneto (Italian Sommeliers Association) in three meetings, formed by a theoretical part and a practical tasting: next meetings will take place on  May 20th and 27th.

Andrea and his wife Laura are waiting for you!
