My husband and I have been married for twenty years. He is a charming man but also a very busy manager. His greatest passion is sport and in his spare time, he can’t help it. Running, tennis, golf … every weekend he partecipates in a sport event. And so, I rediscovered my old favorite hobby: reading. Usually, I read on the sofa at home while I wait for him or on the bleachers of the stadiums where he plays in the summer. Recently, we speak less and there are not enough glances to communicate. Routine dominates us and we no longer put ourselves first. I feel that we are getting lost.
So, inspired by the last novel read, I take my phone to change our situation. I hang up after a few minutes and start preparing my suitcase: tomorrow we are going to the San Clemente Palace Kempinski.
A stay at the San Clemente Palace Kempinski to discover empathy again
I look at my sun-kissed husband’s face and I still see a little disappointment in his expression. He’s certainly thinking about the tennis competition he missed today. The sky above us is clear and matches the lagoon that surrounds us. Looking at the skyline of Piazza San Marco from this perspective enchantes me while we are lulled by the sweet lagoon waters. In a short time, we arrive on the island of San Clemente.
A Lady in Red leads us through the elegant and historic corridors of the hotel to our Lido Suite. I see my husband’s approval from his facial expression. I know his tastes and I knew that he would like a large, modern and bright room like this. And then, the breathtaking view of the lagoon and of the Venice Lido give that romantic touch we need.
A couple massage in the SPA Suites
Put on the fluffy bathrobe, we go to the wellness zone of the San Clemente Palace Kempinski. Once we arrive, I take my husband by the hand and take him elsewhere. There is a surprise for us. We enter the Merchant of Venice SPA Suite and I am pleased to note that it’s long better than my expectations. A truly romantic heaven for us, intimate and exclusive. Pleasant hours of wellness and relaxation await us to relax and regenerate.
We begin our sensory journey as a couple by immersing ourselves in a warm rose petal bath in the jacuzzi. Thanks to the whirlpools and the scent of Rosa Moceniga, my husband and I rediscover being complicit. We start talking to each other like in the past: the words come out spontaneously, we speak to each other in a low voice and we smile again. We are not talking about business or sports but simply about us. After finding serenity, we also have an aromatherapy couple massage. Essential oil envelops us like silk and regenerates our bodies and minds.
Thank you, San Clemente Palace Kempinski
While we are tasting some excellent Prosecco wine on San Clemente’s Sunset Hill, my husband thanks me for this day. We really needed it and it worked. Now we feel closer and stronger as a couple. We often need to leave all our commitments aside and take some time for ourselves. We promise not to take ourselves for granted any more and, hand in hand, we get lost in the amazing sunset that slowly goes down in the lagoon.
