Fourteen February. As every year, the shops, the places, the restaurants become flushed of red and they are decorated of little hearts, petals of rose and any other tied up symbol to the romanticism and the love. There are couples that program romantic suppers, light evenings of candle, weekend out in some destination from the particularly suggestive and sweet atmosphere. But in few they know indeed the meaning of Valentine Day, as was born, because it is celebrated on February 14. Legend of the Sublime love
It was once Sabino, a young Roman centurione of Serapia, in love with a beautiful girl of country that reciprocated his love, but she couldn’t marry him. Her father in fact, it didn’t give the consent to the wedding because the young Sabino was pagan while Serapia and her family were Christian. This way the beautiful Serapia accompanied his loved by the Bishop Valentino to make him have the sacraments and to do so that Sabino drew near to the Christian religion, but unfortunately, while the two young people prepared him to the celebration, before the Baptism and then of the marriage Serapia got sick of tuberculosis a serious illness for which there was no care. This way the Bishop Valentino had called to the bedside of the girl and here, besides baptizing Sabino, he united the two in marriage. It finally gave his benediction to the mole you get married that, together they fell in an eternal sleep.
Legend of the Rosa of the Reconciliation.
The Saint Valentine had a garden very beautiful height of flowers that daily cultivated with care and love. One day passed from there a couple of fiancés that was quarreling and Valentine could not make to less than feel their discussions. So definite to take one of his more beautiful roses, it handed it to the two young people begging them to clarify him and to become reconciled. Naturally he explained them to tighten together the stem of the rose, watching out for not to sting him and praying so that the Lord maintained alive for ever their love. St. Valentine was very good and generous and always entertained so many children to play in his beautiful garden full of luxuriant plants and flowers. Children adored him and they were him very affectionate, so much that the evening, when the sun lowered and St. Valentine greeted them with joy, he gave them his benediction. Besides, the Saint Valentine was usual to give a flower to every baby saying to bring it to their mothers as homage: in this way it fed the relationship of trust and respect with their parents and he knew that children would have returned to play from him the next day. From this legend it derives the tradition to make some small gifts among people that are loved each other.
